A. Yes. Contact our Zoning Inspector.

Q. Is a Zoning Permit required for installation of a fence?
A. No. Granville Township has no provision for regulation of fences in its zoning resolution. Before property owners construct fences the following is recommended:

  1. Know where your property line is located based on a survey. Do not speculate. Do not go on the old fence line which may not be the property line.
  2. A fence must be maintained on both sides. Do not place a fence directly on the property line as you must then trespass on your neighbors property to service the fence and possibly mow the grass on the other side.
  3. If installing barbed wire and electric fence research the state laws controlling the installation and use of such fencing.
