Trustees Seek Granville Recreational Board Appointment Applications

The Granville Township Trustees are requesting applicants to the Granville Recreational District. The Granville Recreation District Board (GRD) of Trustees is a five-member board. Each member serves a 3-year unpaid term. The GRD Board includes 3 appointed members and 2 at-large members. Agencies that appoint members include Granville Village, Granville Exempted School District and Granville Township.

The GRD Board of Trustees have the power to initiate ballot issues, establish or change District policies, sign agreements, award contracts, and possess all of the powers similar to those of a Board of Education for a public-school district. The GRD Board of Trustees hires an Executive Director to manage the day-to-day affairs of the recreation district. The Executive Director manages and directs the organization’s staff to manage operations. Regular Open Board Meetings – 1st and 3rd Thursdays of every month at 6:00pm.  

Duties of the Granville Township appointed member also include keeping the township trustees apprised of matters related to the GRD Board that may affect the Township and attending a Granville Township Trustee meeting annually to discuss any needed business.
